How To celebrate a night out – in.
Ok, so I’m a little partial to May and not just because it’s my birthday but that everything is overflowing in green!
Whether you’re celebrating Mother’s Day, a Graduation Dinner, Date Night or Special Milestone; if you’re thinking night out but are quarantined in, then here’s a stellar arrangement you may just fall for…
A Classic Metropolitan Glam.
Bridging the color and cut of Emerald with sleek, modern lines of a big city highrise was a vision for a glam night in. II committed to using what was available in order words “Improvise”.
Metropolitan Glam Dining :
- 2 Colors
- 1 Accent (In this case gold)
- Decor that is equally functional & decorative ( in this case lanterns)
- Bonus: 1 Area Rug Contrasting or Monochromatic Rug
A rug defines space and ultimately offers an immediate welcome for dining.
This tablescape sticks with what is essential, functional with minimal fuss; paired with classic that never goes out of style, white & gold.
I wanted the room… the setting… to be somewhat modernistic and minimal yet with an overall sense that felt charming…touched with a little warmth that says come in, stay awhile.
“Glowing tabletop lanterns naturally supplies indoor dining with al fresco ambience regardless of the weather.”
The room became a space warmed by the presence of gold, paralleled against the stark white I think the tone gave it that.
To support the mode for calm I choose not to place flatware; the gold lanterns and trim, I thought was enough movement.
There are 3 concepts that are very important in “living” in a space no matter where:
It should be
Practical Functional Engaging
This should be the basis for any room
I could definitely call New York or London Streets home. But I can imagine this room in any city, place or town, nestled in comfort for a solo, duet or for a small chorus company.
April has been so generous with warm rain showers that creates perfect May days, and there’s a million shades of green that reflects the harmony & quiet balance.
For enclosed areas or homes with limited outdoor space I love this makeshift Metropolitan Glam, for me it evokes the very essence of spring like days and everything green in May.
